Community Events

The Great Valley LaunchBox offers many different types of events. From our annual Lion Cage pitch competition and StartUp Weekends to our Founder Speaker series and Technical Events you will find a like-minded community at the Great Valley LaunchBox

Coworking Space

In the newly opened Knowledge Commons there is plenty of space to work. There are plenty of open work areas for individuals or small groups as well as break out rooms that can be reserved by visiting the reception desk. There is even a self service cafe right in the Commons.

Maker Space

As part of the Penn State Great Valley REV-UP Center for Entrepreneurship, this state-of-the-art facility is equipped and software, such as multiple 3D printers, Waterjet machining center, HAAS CNC Milling Machine, a laser engraver, and other shop tools.

Penn State Law Entrepreneur Assistance Clinic and IP Clinic

Provides a variety of free legal services related to startups.

LaunchBox Student Startup Project

The Student Startup Project gives Penn State Great Valley students the opportunity to immerse yourself in a real-world startup experience. Working with other students and the LaunchBox director, you’ll tackle real challenges the LaunchBox and its clients face. You’ll be involved in infrastructure, brand, communications, marketing, events, and consulting, giving you a glimpse of working in a startup and, more importantly, challenging you to think outside the box.

One Button Studio

The one button studio is great way to practice and perfect your pitch. Located in the Knowledge Commons in the Main building, it is incredibly easy to use and open to all students as well as community entrepreneurs.

Leo Daiuto

Program Director & Entrepreneur-In-Residence

Leo is an active community entrepreneur and newly appointed director of the Great Valley LaunchBox. He has over 15 years of real-world experience starting and building companies as well as over 25 years of solving complex problems with Fortune 100 companies.
Doug Schumer PhD

Faculty Director

Doug is a professor of engineering design at Penn State Great Valley and brings over 20 years of industry experience in the medical device and innovation field to the Great Valley LaunchBox.
Dennis Wozniak

Engineering Lab and Maker Space Manager

Dennis is the Engineering Lab Manager at Penn State Great Valley and works with students in the engineering program, local community entrepreneurs as well as LaunchBox companies.

Get Involved

The University is offering a LaunchBox Matching Program — a one-to-one match for gifts of $25,000 and above that are directed toward entrepreneurship centers at Penn State campuses. Your gift could have double the impact and create lasting support to the Great Valley LaunchBox endowment.
